"God's Awesome Favor!"
Written by Sister Zenobia Barnes

Zenobia BarnesI thank God for allowing me to receive a full scholarship at Drexel University where I will be attending in the fall.

Drexel University is a prestigious school. Only sixty students were accepted into my major which is Design & Merchandising. The scholarship that I received is only offered to students who are Philadelphia residents. In order to receive the scholarship you have to write an essay. After submitting the essay, there is a selection process and a select number of students are chosen to interview.

Thank God, I was selected to have an interview. The interview went fantastic. Before the interview, I was nervous but the power of the Holy Ghost helped me. During the interview, God was with me and He gave me the right words to say. I did not realize that I was being interviewed by the Director of Admissions for Drexel’s Undergraduate Program and for the Scholarship Program. After the interview, I remembered who she was. She and the other interviewer complimented me and said that I did a phenomenal job. I was ecstatic, but I still prayed that God would bless me with the scholarship.

The competition was intense. The students being interviewed attend Special Admit/Magnet schools such as Central High School, Engineering and Science and Bodine. However, God still showed me favor. During my spring break, I received an email that all my tuition and fees will be covered for four years!! In addition to receiving the scholarship, I received additional monies from Drexel which covers my room and board. I thank God for blessing me with the scholarship, because without it, I would not have been able to attend Drexel. The school is very expensive. God is so awesome! He made it clear that it is meant for me to attend Drexel University in the fall.
